On the last few weeks I’ve talked about a LOT of Christmas gift inspiration. We’ve been on quite a journey, covering makeup marvels, goodies for bath & body, plus ways to treat foodies, homebodies and magpies to something special! With one week left, today is the final part of this year’s gift guides and, to finish things off, I’d love to take a look at some 2016 gifts for guys.
Buying for boys, I think, can unfairly have a bit of a bad rep. Like with any sort of present, you just need to pick out something that the person is likely to appreciate! So my suggestions are very much inspired by the dudes in my life and what I think they’d love to find under the tree – hopefully this might help you with any last-minute ideas for yours too…
Boys and their shoes, eh? If you know (or live with!) a guy that can’t get enough pairs of trainers, then it might be possible that you’ve already considered this gift idea! It’s a tricky one to get right – after all, it’s all down to personal style but, if you can pull it off, I say go for it!
I love this pair of veggie leather SK8-HI’s by Vans (£90). The colour is described as tan, but if you ask me they are much more of a blush pink / peach than tan! Perfect for anyone who enjoys a classic sneaker shape and wants to add a subtle pop of colour to their existing wardrobe.
This year, coffee has quickly become my stocking filler of choice! I know so many guys that love a good cup of coffee and like to make their own at home using an Aeropress. Unwrapping a bag of his favourite ground coffee is likely to bring a smile to even the most grumpy Gus’ face, I guarantee it!
As well as this rich Union Coffee (pictured), you could pick up something produced in your own town. In Glasgow’s many indie coffee shops, bags of the coffee served are available for sale and usually cost somewhere between £5 and £10. Throw in a new mug and you’ve got yourself a neat little gift!
Practical, stylish and oh-so-necessary for this time of year, a beanie is the kind of item that dudes of most ages will appreciate.
This Gant knitted hat (£35) comes in a couple of colours and is part of their Fall / Winter 2016 collection. It’s super soft and cosy – ideal for anyone that loves the great outdoors.
The Enamel Pin
It’s pretty safe to say that enamel pins are still a hot favourite with men and women alike this year (in fact, maybe even more so than last year). They make a great add-on to a big gift and this year I’ve also been giving them to some of my friends with their Christmas cards as a small token to let them know how rad they are.
The most awesome thing about enamel pins is, you can find one for almost every interest. What’s his favourite cult movie / band / catchphrase? Let’s face it, whatever it might be, there’s probably a pin for it! Take this Escobart pin by Nathan Cleary – it brings together TWO beloved TV shows. Genius!
I hope that if you’ve been feeling stuck, this small collection of gifts for guys inspires you to finish off your Christmas shopping. Let me know if you have any suggestions too – I’m always keen to discover more!
Here’s to making a list and checking it twice…
