Ch-ch-changes! I’m Rebranding!

It looks like it’s been a little quiet on the blog this week but, the truth is, there has been a LOT happening behind the scenes! I thought it would be a good idea to take five and share some details about what’s coming up – because even though I have said it on social media, there’s only so much you can fit into a tweet!

As a lot of you will know, I’ve been blogging under my current name for a long time – about seven years actually. And a LOT has changed since then in the world of digital media, but I’m sure you don’t need me to tell you that! From writing under a pseudonym and never posting a photo of myself, to becoming my own personal brand, I never thought I’d see the day when a personal website and social media platforms would become such a big part of what I do.

When I first started Miss West End Girl it was anonymous – a fun girl-about-town alter ego that I came up with based on the neighbourhood I lived in at the time. But now most people just know me as Lynsay, the person behind the laptop (and let’s face it – the person parading around on Instagram looking daft a lot of the time) and I don’t feel as shy anymore. It’s a good thing, and I wanted to do something about it.

So, if you’ve seen my recent Instagram and Twitter posts, you will already know the news – and if you haven’t (see me after class!), here it is: I’m rebranding!

Over the next few weeks, my blog name is going to be changing from Miss West End Girl to Lynsay Loves and I couldn’t be more excited. I’ve got someone really special working on a brand new logo and header for me and I already feel so much more connected to the new name! The new website ( will be ready for you to come and visit next month.

In the meantime, I will be writing here as usual and I’ve got some posts coming up next week that I’ve been really looking forward to sharing! And don’t worry, I won’t be leaving anything behind – all of my posts will be available to read on the new website (I’m a hoarder you guys!).

I’ve been asked if my content or style is going to change due to the rebranding and the answer to that is a big fat NO! I will still be sharing fun life and style posts about the things that make me feel happy and excited. You can expect me to talk about everything from food, to travel, interiors, shopping, beauty, personal style, local events, thoughts on life and much more. A change of name and blog redesign is enough of a switch-up for this gal!

My social media handles have changed from @misswestendgirl to @lynsayloves but if you’re already following me you don’t need to do anything – the name will just have switched over. Come say hi and let me know what you think of the rebrand!

I think that’s everything for now but I’ll be sharing more updates very soon and of course my new website launch! All that’s left to say is a big thank you for reading, for your patience and for your support! Making this kind of change is a pretty daunting task and so far so many of you have been really kind and encouraging, which makes it feel less scary! I hope you’ll stick around for the next chapter.

Here’s to taking leaps and moving forward,

Friday Hi-Fives: Shoes, Spa Fun and Sweet Potato Korma!

sweet potato korma

Happy weekend, everyone! We’ve made it through Storm Doris and hopefully things will calm down enough for us to get outside and have some fun over the next few days (a gal can dream, right).

Since we last hi-fived, I’ve been splashing around at the Village Hotel spa with Boohoo (more on that next week!), getting a makeover in the back of a taxi with BareMinerals (yup, really!) and picking my must-have pair of shoes at the Next Perfect Shoes event (they’re black and very chunky…let’s just say there’s a teeny goth girl that still lives in my soul).

All of that gallivanting was bound to work up an appetite, which is why I was very excited to visit Crossing The Rubicon, which has recently opened on Great Western Road. Filled with delicious Indian-inspired street food, and more craft beer than you could ever want, it’s well worth checking out. I went along as part of the #BloggingTheRubicon event, and got to try several of the dishes – the Roast Carrot & Sweet Potato Korma is pretty darn special! I can’t wait to go back for round two…

This weekend I’m looking forward to checking out the Glasgow Vintage & Flea Market at Barras Art and Design. It’s the first of a new series of markets which will take place on the last Sunday of each month. With plenty of homeware for me to snoop around, plus appearances from a few of my favourites like Habiib, it’s shaping up to be a good one! See you guys there?

I hope your weekend is off to an awesome start! If you’re hibernating at home, here are a few links I’ve been loving lately – feel free to add them to your reading list.

This week, I’m hi-fiving because…

…why throw shade when you can bask in the sun? My girl Vicky talks girl-on-girl hate and why it needs to stop. NOW.

…I read this a few days ago and it was one of the most interesting articles I’ve seen all week: Ashanti is asking the question Is Attending London Fashion Week Still Relevant for Bloggers? Click here to read her take on this hot topic.

…you know what’s better than peanut butter? Home made peanut butter. And do you know what’s EVEN better than that? Easy home made peanut butter! Katy is sharing her recipe and my mouth filled with saliva just reading it!

…I was curious to find out how people put the Pomodoro technique of working / resting into practice and it turns out Xandra is sharing a handy guide to how she does it over on her blog.

…new lipstick is something I need like a hole in the head… but that still isn’t stopping me from obsessing over the Kat Von D Rock Candy collection. THREE shades of bright pink, you guys. Need I say more?

I’m putting my out of office on for the next couple of days and I hope you’ve got some down time to enjoy this weekend too! See you next week!

Friday Hi-Fives: All About the Popcorn

all about the popcorn

Hola, friends – and happy weekend to us all! Whether you’re reading this on your Friday commute or maybe catching up with me over the weekend in your pyjamas, I hope you’ve had an awesome week!

If you read Wednesday’s post, you’ll know that I spent a fun-packed day in Edinburgh recently and I’ve also been out and about in Glasgow this week. On Sunday I checked out the MOXIE fashion pop-up at Blythswood Square Hotel, where I got to meet the bubbly babes behind Heather Margaret Grace. As well and being able to check out more of their work in person, it was so lovely to put faces to names!

Later that day, I headed to Kiehl’s where I was treated to a yummy lunch from Halloumi (a new Greek restaurant in town that I’d been dying to try!) and plenty of skincare chat with a few blogger gals I hadn’t seen in ages.

Jumping forward to midweek, it was ALL about the popcorn on Wednesday evening when Gary and I attended the launch of Cineworld Renfrew Street’s brand new VIP experience. With 4DX launching in August, the Superscreen launching in September and now the VIP experience, there’s never been a better time for a night at the movies! We just loved the gourmet buffet and unlimited snacks, but the best part for me was the enormous reclining chairs – super comfy!

Tonight I’m kicking off the weekend in style with dinner, a new dress and a good ol’ catch up with my flame-haired fox, Casci. I can’t wait. What are you up to the next few days? Here are a few things you might want to add to your agenda…

This week, I’m hi-fiving because…

…it’s all about Your 5 this weekend at Silverburn – a free fashion & beauty event to help get you ready for the new season (and any help I can get finding the perfect pair of winter boots is much appreciated!). You can also scoop extra discounts & deals on your day at the centre by downloading the Silverburn PLUS app (it’s free!)

…this post about body confidence by Ellis might be full of sunny poolside photos, but her important message about loving yourself can be applied to any outfit, all year round. Yes girl!

…new beauty launches make my heart sing! And the new Wine & Chocolate makeup collection by Bobbi Brown hit counters yesterday in a parade of rich, vampy tones – ooh la la!

…like everyone else on the planet I have been OBSESSED with Stranger Things this year, so these outfits inspired by Barb (oh, poor sweet Barb!) and Eleven by Kim and Helen are just perfect. Roll on season 2!

…my feel-good playlist of the week has included a LOT of 80s rock (did I mention I watched Rock of Ages on Saturday night?). Pour some sugar on me, why dontcha?!

Let me know what’s been making your week that little bit sweeter – who gets YOUR hi-fives today? Have an excellent weekend, kittens! You deserve it.

Love, popcorn and plenty of air guitar…
