Shopping, music and makeovers – oh my! The lovely people at Glad Rags Thrift sure know how to throw a party, and their latest event has hearts a-fluttering all over town! Join Glad Rags Thrift as they pack up their vintage suitcase of goodies and head right next door for a Saturday night shopping experience like no other. On 23rd August, Glad Rags Thrift and some special guests at The Venue in the Southside’s Glad Cafe will present Get Dressed – and EVERYONE is invited…
A special flash sale will be set up on the night, giving the opportunity to browse and buy men and women’s clothing at one-off discounted prices. Elbows at the ready! There will also be makeovers from uber vixens, Pinup, with two lucky ladies given the full makeover experience (that’s hair, beauty AND outfits!) so keep an eye on Glad Rags Thrift’s Facebook page if you fancy applying to be made over! If you don’t win a full make-over, don’t worry – just visit the pop-up beauty bar for a mini tutorial in retro glamour. You’ll have that kitsch cutie look nailed in no time.
Sometimes thrift shopping can be a bit daunting, sure that gold belt is amazing but how do you actually wear it?! Luckily, Glad Rags Thrift will have their team of super friendly AND fashion-forward style advisors to keep you right and help you with some outfit inspiration while you browse. It’s amazing how helpful a second pair of eyes can be. Now, go forth, find that dream outfit and work it!
As you may already know, Glad Rags Thrift operate strictly on a non-profit basis. This also means that their stock is 100% dependant on donations from the community – give a little, get a little. Call it karma, call it killer common (and fashion!) sense, either way this awesome organisation needs our support. The team will be accepting donations at the event all evening – just pop over to the designated drop-off point if you have any unwanted men’s or women’s items to donate. With a sale like this kicking off, they’ll be after reinforcements…
On the night we can also expect oodles of other fun stuff like music, a raffle, yummy cupcakes and a themed photobooth. Oh yes! I told you these guys and gals knew how to throw a party, right?
Sound good? The fun starts from 5:30pm on Saturday 23rd August at Glad Cafe on Pollockshaws Road. Entry to the event is totally free, so what are you waiting for?
Will you be getting dressed with Glad Rags Thrift? What does your dream thrifted outfit look like?
With cake, cute dresses and cat-eye winks,
