So Long, Miss West End Girl!

In just a few days, my shiny new website will be ready – in fact, the next time I write here, it will be under my new blog identity: Lynsay Loves. I just can’t wait to share it with you!

There will be new things: my name will be different of course, and there will be a few new pages to explore. My logo and branding will have had a makeover and, having had a sneak preview, I can honestly say that the overall LOOK of my blog is going to feel more ‘me’ than ever!

But, as I explained in this post, a lot of things will stay the same around here. My passion for writing isn’t going anywhere, and the types of things that I love to share with you will stay the same too.

While the rebrand work is underway for a couple of days you won’t be able to access my posts – but you can still find me over on Twitter and Instagram at @lynsayloves in the meantime! Sit tight kittens because I will be back here and raring to go before you know it!

It’s been a fun and exciting ride entering the blogging world as Miss West End Girl and seeing where the last seven years have taken me. From creative collaborations, to speaking gigs, being featured in a book (with pages and everything!), being on TV, writing for other websites and much more – I’m beyond grateful for it all.

And yet, this doesn’t feel like the end of something, it feels like I’m still at the beginning.

Thank you for sticking with me so far, and I’ll see you on the other side…

Ch-ch-changes! I’m Rebranding!

It looks like it’s been a little quiet on the blog this week but, the truth is, there has been a LOT happening behind the scenes! I thought it would be a good idea to take five and share some details about what’s coming up – because even though I have said it on social media, there’s only so much you can fit into a tweet!

As a lot of you will know, I’ve been blogging under my current name for a long time – about seven years actually. And a LOT has changed since then in the world of digital media, but I’m sure you don’t need me to tell you that! From writing under a pseudonym and never posting a photo of myself, to becoming my own personal brand, I never thought I’d see the day when a personal website and social media platforms would become such a big part of what I do.

When I first started Miss West End Girl it was anonymous – a fun girl-about-town alter ego that I came up with based on the neighbourhood I lived in at the time. But now most people just know me as Lynsay, the person behind the laptop (and let’s face it – the person parading around on Instagram looking daft a lot of the time) and I don’t feel as shy anymore. It’s a good thing, and I wanted to do something about it.

So, if you’ve seen my recent Instagram and Twitter posts, you will already know the news – and if you haven’t (see me after class!), here it is: I’m rebranding!

Over the next few weeks, my blog name is going to be changing from Miss West End Girl to Lynsay Loves and I couldn’t be more excited. I’ve got someone really special working on a brand new logo and header for me and I already feel so much more connected to the new name! The new website ( will be ready for you to come and visit next month.

In the meantime, I will be writing here as usual and I’ve got some posts coming up next week that I’ve been really looking forward to sharing! And don’t worry, I won’t be leaving anything behind – all of my posts will be available to read on the new website (I’m a hoarder you guys!).

I’ve been asked if my content or style is going to change due to the rebranding and the answer to that is a big fat NO! I will still be sharing fun life and style posts about the things that make me feel happy and excited. You can expect me to talk about everything from food, to travel, interiors, shopping, beauty, personal style, local events, thoughts on life and much more. A change of name and blog redesign is enough of a switch-up for this gal!

My social media handles have changed from @misswestendgirl to @lynsayloves but if you’re already following me you don’t need to do anything – the name will just have switched over. Come say hi and let me know what you think of the rebrand!

I think that’s everything for now but I’ll be sharing more updates very soon and of course my new website launch! All that’s left to say is a big thank you for reading, for your patience and for your support! Making this kind of change is a pretty daunting task and so far so many of you have been really kind and encouraging, which makes it feel less scary! I hope you’ll stick around for the next chapter.

Here’s to taking leaps and moving forward,

Friday Hi-Fives: Celebrations, Cake and Cinema

Whoosh! It’s the end of the week AND the start of a new month – January seems to have just flown by, doesn’t it? I hope your 2017 is off to a fun and fabulous start so far.

Lately, I’ve visited a few new places around town to grab a bite to eat – including Chaakoo and Temaki in the city centre, and you can expect much more on Temaki next week! I’ve also been doing a ton of research for our big US road trip in a couple of months – making notes and bookmarking all of the places we want to check out.

This week, I’ve been making plans to catch up with some friends that I haven’t seen in a long time – including Silvia, who is in town celebrating her company Chouchou’s seventh birthday (SEVEN YEARS?! How did that happen?) for a few days. I’m also excited to see my friend Fiona, because no matter how long it’s been, we always pick up where we left off the last time.

If you’re in Glasgow tomorrow and fancy something a bit different, Ross Street Market is on from 11am to 5pm at The Barras. Expect art, food, drink and more from the likes of Julie’s Street Kitchen, Freddy & Hicks and other local independent companies. My mouth is already watering at the thought of Julie’s Malaysian-inspired street food!

Before I drift off into a food-related daydream, let’s share some more good stuff!

This week, I’m hi-fiving because…

…I’m STILL obsessing over La La Land and I’m plotting a repeat trip to the cinema. If you HAVEN’T seen it yet, put it on your to-do list and check out Gary’s (spoiler-free) thoughts to get you started

…Ayden’s been supporting the Jo’s Cervical Cancer #SmearForSmear campaign and talking all about why us girls shouldn’t be skipping those important appointments

…multicoloured holographic nails, you say? If I’m walking around staring at my hands and bumping into walls then you know why (and it’s all Swoon Nails’ handiwork!)

…Junk Kouture is arriving in Glasgow next week with its show of fashion design and wearable art from young talent – find out more about the event and how to attend here

…we spent a lovely afternoon lunching and laughing to celebrate my dad’s birthday last weekend. Oh, and it’s not a birthday without cake, am I right?

Here’s to making this weekend awesome – I’ve got a busy week ahead so I fully intend to spend the next few days hanging out with my nearest and dearest.

Who gets your hi-fives today?

Until next week…
