If you were a kid in the 80s or 90s, chances are you’ll remember the Point Horror series. And, if you’re anything like me, you might have been a little bit obsessed with them! Along with RL Stine’s Goosebumps books, I devoured Scholastic’s Point Horror titles until I was ready to move onto the likes of Stephen King and anything else I could raid from my dad’s bookshelf!
I was delighted to see that Truffle Shuffle had recently started stocking a Point Horror-inspired collection, and immediately had my eye on this The Cheerleader long sleeve tee. Half the fun of the books were the creepy covers after all; seeing the titles in that striking, usually jagged font.
When I started thinking about the covers, I began to reminisce about more of THOSE iconic titles - The Babysitter, The Mall, Teacher’s Pet, The Lifeguard, Freeze Tag… just seeing them emblazoned across the covers was enough to let my imagination wander to its most terrifying limits!
I started to think about what sorts of titles might be pitched now if Point Horror were to make a comeback - after all, things are a lot different now compared to what they were back then. What sorts of situations would set the scene for a new generation of horror?
Just for fun, I decided to come up with some of my own spine-tingling book titles. I don’t write Point Horror books but, if I DID, here are some of my ‘best-sellers’…
Sorry, You Were Out (plot twist: she was home the whole time)
Phone Storage Full (noooooooooo!)
The Ghost (“but we were getting along so well…?”)
Shadow Ban (is it real? Is it all in her head? Or is it all someone’s sick game?)
The Brunch (think avo on toast is going to be under £10? Think again…)
To Let (all she wanted was a normal neighbour to move in next door)
Let Agreed (the chilling follow-up to To Let)
Joking aside, I’m really in the mood to revisit some of my favourite Point Horror novels! Were you a fan? Let me know your favourite titles (and any you’d pitch for a reboot!).

OMG! I loved them! Googling them now! X
I own them all (the books not the T-shirts), I read them as a teen then collected all the ones I had missed from ebay. You look amazing in this T-shirt, I really want one but its hard to pick which one to get.
