Bosley turned two last month! We can’t believe he’s been with us almost two whole years - on one hand it feels like he’s ALWAYS been with us, and yet there are new still things we learn all the time as he gets older.
Sometimes people ask me if I’m a cat person or a dog person - the truth is, I consider myself an ‘animal person’! What about you?
I mean, I have a cat right now, but I wouldn’t rule out other types of pets in the future. For the time being, I guess you could call me a cat lady - I certainly adore our little lion and talk about him all the time (take right now, for example…)!
Bosley brings us so much joy and is such a good-natured little guy. He’s sunbathing at my feet as I write this and looking up at me every so often to make sure I’m not slacking off (he’s a pretty good supervisor!).
To help celebrate Bosley’s second year as part of the family, I wanted to share some more of his most entertaining quirks. I’m sure any other cat lady will be able to relate to some (if not, all!) of these…
- He has a lot of love to give - but it’s on his terms, baby. Bosley is really affectionate and loves to be petted and cuddled, but unlike some cats, he doesn’t like to sit on anyone’s lap (except for Briony - AKA the cat whisperer!). Instead, he will sit beside you with a good view of the TV and a high expectation of a back massage, a belly rub and a cheek scratch.
- If it fits, he sits. Yep, like a feline contortionist Bosley will squeeze his body into the smallest of spaces - instead of, y’know, the endless options of more convenient places to hang out. Balancing on the corner of a cabinet is his specialty…
- Bosley takes selective hearing to a WHOLE new level. I could stand next to my sleeping cat and blow dry my hair and he wouldn’t even twitch. But if I try to covertly and oh-so-gently open a can in the kitchen he appears, as if by magic!
- Bathtime is now a team activity. I’m talking about mine, not his! Whether I’ve got a regular bath planned or a more luxurious, Lush-themed affair, you can bet that solitary baths are a thing of the past and Bosley will sit next to the tub (and shower!) while I’m in.
- He likes the simple things in life. Why enjoy a plush, comfortable bed when you can sleep in a cardboard box? And by that, I mean EVERY cardboard box that arrives into the flat. Also, glasses of water are pretty much his favourite thing, so be sure to pour him a glass while you’re getting your own.
I would love to know more about your furry friends and some of their funny personality traits! Whether you’re a cat lady, have a cute pooch, or another type of animal in your life, let me know if you can relate to any of the above OR have something else to share…

I always thought I was a cat person, not a dog person, until I got cats - and THEY’VE turned me into an animal person. Which makes them sound like terrible pets (well, sometimes); it just seems that becoming a pet owner has turned me into somebody who also wants to pet every dog she meets!
I love Bosley’s wee squishy face 🙂 Belated happy Gotcha-day, pal!

Your cats are my OTHER fave internet pets 🙂
Like who couldn’t love Biggie and Scooterface though? Gah! So cute.
