Five Must-have Pieces from OMEDELBAR at IKEA

OMEDELBAR

IKEA have always been my go-to guys for inexpensive style updates. Some of you might remember this £1.50 IKEA DIY hack I posted about last year and I often declare my love for their faux plants! But, when I first heard about the Swedish homeware giant’s new OMEDELBAR range, I have to admit I was even more intrigued than usual.

OMEDELBAR

Created in collaboration with rock n’ roll fashion activist Bea Åkerlund, who has designed ensembles for the likes of Lady Gaga, Katy Perry and Madonna, this interior collection is guaranteed to inject some rock star glamour into even the dullest corner of your living space! As you might expect, all 35-pieces are very striking - in black and white with vivid pops of red, gold and even leopard print.

But, how do you make a collection that’s so daring work for you and your home? OMEDELBAR is very eclectic but also very accessible - ranging from small items, like shaped coat hangers to luxe up your wardrobe, to larger pieces such as chairs and curtains that’ll really make a statement in any room.

OMEDELBAR

I’ve hand-picked five of my must-have pieces from this exciting new range and I’d love to share them today (and show you how I style ’em!):

OMEDELBAR

OMEDELBAR Cushion (£12)

Red lips are synonymous with Hollywood glamourpusses and bad gals everywhere, am I right? This velvety-soft cushion looks great on armchairs and sofas for a statement look, or snuggle up to it on top of your bed while watching an old Bette Davis movie. And, psst - it even comes in a smaller version for £9 if you like the look but need it to fit a particular space.

OMEDELBAR Bowl (£18)

For queens (and kings!) of the house, this gold crown-shaped bowl is perfect for bringing a little bit of royal style to that old coffee table. Fill it with fruit, candles, or whatever takes your fancy - it also looks pretty awesome on its own…

OMEDELBAR

OMEDELBAR Rug (£45)

This is by far my favourite piece in the collection and, as you can see, it’s Bosley’s too! This faux-leopardskin (it’s polyester, don’t fret!) rug is very eye-catching and would work really well in most rooms (even brightly coloured ones like our living room!). If you’re looking to revive a space that you’ve fallen out of love with, a bold print like this is a great place to start! Meow!

OMEDELBAR

OMEDELBAR Vase (£18)

As a very fashion-forward collection, it’s only fitting that the three vases available in OMEDELBAR at IKEA are based on accessories. With two dapper top hats and a kinky boot to choose from, you can use them as vases OR as stand-alone ornaments. One thing’s for sure, shelves and mantlepieces will never be the same again.

OMEDELBAR

OMEDELBAR Glasses (£3 for 2 glasses)

I leave lipstick prints on every glass, coffee cup and sandwich that I come into contact with. Call it an occupational hazard if you like, I prefer to think of it as my calling card! As you can imagine, I am utterly smitten with these glasses, which come with a lipstick motif already etched onto them - how clever! At £3, how could anyone resist adding them to their kitchen? Or, alternatively, use them as a fabulous way to store your make brushes!

The entire OMEDELBAR collection is available at IKEA now for a limited time - click here to see all of the designs. Bea Åkerlund’s vision for the range is that it celebrates embracing yourself, no matter what the world thinks of you. It’s about individuality and creativity”. As someone who feels like my home is a true reflection of my personality and style, I can totally relate!
