Oldies But Goodies: Awesome Things I’ve Rediscovered Lately

oldies but goodies

One of things I love about blogging (and there are many!) is that it gives me a chance to share new and exciting things with you guys. Sneaky peeks at upcoming places, products and services, as well as fresh ideas and initiatives.

However, it’s also a space to tell you about the things make my heart sing, regardless of how long they’ve been around! It’s not always about what’s new - just about what’s awesome, whether it’s been here for 50 minutes or 50 years!

Rediscovering something that makes you happy can be really comforting. The kind of cosy thing that almost makes you say out loud, hello you! It’s good to see you again! And FYI, if you DO say that out loud to an inanimate object, fear not… here, you’re amongst friends who do the same!

I thought it might be quite nice to make a list of these oldies but goodies - things I’ve been revisiting lately (and loving every bit of it!):

Dark chocolate tea cakes (top tip: keep ’em in the fridge so the chocolate cracks when you chomp into it)

Seinfeld (‘these pretzels are making me thirsty’)

Orange Fanta - who loves orange soda? Me, apparently

Classic Rock radio - perfect for when I’m cleaning the house and channelling Mrs Doubtfire

Pens with fluffy tops - because if it’s good enough for Cher Horowitz…

Hi Fidelity by Nick Hornby (probably my favourite book - that’s not a Prince biography - of all time!)

Slogan T-shirts - the uniform of 15-year-old me… and now 32-year-old me. Go figure!

Late night toast - one of life’s simple pleasures (and if it’s made with soda bread, even better!)

Uncle Buck (or any John Hughes movie for that matter!)

Phone calls - ringing someone to wish them good luck, happy birthday or just to say HEY. So much nicer than a text!

What are some of your oldies but goodies? I’d love to keep the warm and fuzzy vibes going so let me know in the comments below or over on Twitter.
