Have you ever spotted something and had a Wayne’s World-esque ‘it will be mine (oh yes, it WILL be mine)‘ moment? Well, that’s exactly what happened to me when I was at the Intu Braehead Autumn Winter 2018 showcase about a month ago. It wasn’t a white guitar that caught my eye, but a dress in delicious oversized leopard print and, believe me, I fell HARD.
After checking the brand, I was in total disbelief because it turned out the dress was from… Wallis?? Ex-squeeze me? After picking my jaw from the floor, I made it my mission to add this frock to my collection ASAP. Thanks to a stash of Debenhams vouchers that had set up camp in my purse, it didn’t take too long!
This dress has pretty much everything I want in an item of clothing: it’s got a bold colour, a print you can see from space and it’s super comfy (AKA stretchy and perfect for big brunches!). Tick, tick double tick! It’s one of those pieces that I’ve been reaching for when I’m really not sure what to wear but want to feel good about myself.
It may not be how Wallis would have styled it, but I’ve mostly been wearing the dress with my classic Vans and a fluffy candy floss-hued coat. Who knew burnt orange and baby pink could work together like this?

Now, please don’t @ me - I’m not hating on Wallis. It’s just that I’d never shopped there before and felt like we were from opposite sides of the tracks - like the Montagues and Capulets! The truth is, I don’t know if Wallis is getting cooler or maybe it’s just the fact that I’m getting older (maybe both?!) but, either way, this piece has become a firm favourite of mine.
A big hi-five to Braehead for bringing this excellent dress into my life - you can already see it splashed all over my Instagram and I have a feeling I’ll be wearing it again very soon!
